Ive been playing a lot of KID and I try to castle quick and go for a d5 or c5 pawn break but I usually end up feeling like i cant move my f2 pawn. Striking f2 early before castling is a super interesting idea; just unstick it right away instead. ill have to try it out sometime!

Why not play Nf3 first to stop e5 then go for b3 bb2 d4 c4 e3 Be2

Something small that you do in your videos that is so effective to me as a listener/student: briefly repeating the idea of the previous possible move before going into the next one. That is so helpful with solidifying the idea in my head.

Hey Solomon! Love the vid as always. A week ago I asked you about covering e4 pterodactyls. The line I'm most interested in goes 1e4 g6 2nf3 bg7 3d4 c5. It's called hyperaccelerated pterodactyl and after dxc5 qa5 it has a lot of goofy names based on a variation. There is also 1e4 g6 2nc3 bg7 3d4 c5 to be aware of. I don't know if you covered c5 against e4 d4 f4 if so, then I'll look for it. Do they play similarly to sicilian defense or do they follow a different gameplan? I'm not a big fan of the sicilian tbh

Pterodactyl defence seems to be a nice way of avoiding sämisch variation as a King's Indian Defence player or Hippo player.

You play endgames in time trouble like me. I usually win ( if I win) after missing mate in 2 or 3 several times😂

This is pretty bad, why take the Bishop with the Queen? Bishop takes bishop check, Queen takes bishop is forced. Pawn takes rook promoted to Queen. Queen takes Queen (either one) is Mate. Why be up 18 points material instead of checkmate? 🤦 Also the pawn takes Rook isn't just winning, it's game over. Queen takes Queen, then Queen takes Bishop checkmate.

I would like to see your thoughts as white using b3-Bb2 which seems to eliminate a lot of boring d4 nonsense.

My opp just resigned out of nowhere I was trying to play an normal alekhine and somehow my opponent went knight c3 and i went pawn d5 after that he just resigned so I had to see the possible moves since I couldn't play it out anyways good detailed content...

Funnily enough I was playing this opening without even knowing it has a name.

When I was younger I had my own opening for black and white. Turns out I was just playing the King’s Indian from both sides 😂😅

Our opening choices are so simpatico. I often got this by transposition playing the Van Geet with 1. Nc3. I’ve been playing the Ponzianni of late and …1 b5 vs 1. c4 The English, another gambit line you’ve covered. The Van Geet has lots of interesting gambit lines. And how about the Novosibirsk with1. Nc3 c5 2. d4. Van Geet played high level correspondence with 1.nc3

Can you do an Anti-Bird video? Would love to see the aproach an NM would take on it. Both classical Setup with b3 e3 and the Leningrad. (I got a good antidote against the Shankland line with b5, but would recommend it anyways)

I don't like 1. c3 because if black plays 1. d5 after 2. d4 I don't get a Caro-Kann
